Hello Friends of Kidding Around,
Happy First of May!
Are you hungry for something new?
For the next few weeks, we will be posting themed resources to help you through this puzzling time, this week we are highlighting recipes and online baking and cooking resources for kids.
Below you will find a list of various websites we have found with various food related resources! Perfect for the little baker or tiny chef!
One of our favorites is a great list of food based games by the blog, The Red Tricycle:
At Kidding Around, we love games! Alot! It can be hard to think of ways to make everyday activities fun and educational, and these are some great suggestions for how to make cooking into a game! How about a blind-folded taste test with candies, nuts and fruit? How about writing your name in pretzel dough? Or making up a recipe? I have a strong memory of making my Dad a rainbow cake for his birthday, I was five. It was inedible, I’m sure, but I learned a lot about baking dos and don’ts. By the time my Mom’s birthday came around I was a pro!
Another recommendation on The Red Tricycle is to make something based on your favorite book. Here are a few of our favorite book involving food: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Dragons Love Tacos, Green Eggs and Ham, Strega Nona or how about Mo Willem’s Elephant and Piggie book, I Really Like Slop?
Enjoy these recipes and resources and have a great weekend!
